Action Mitsubishi
The story of Mitsubishi's Canadian division is an incredible one. Established in the early 2000s, it has gone through difficult times, but has always bounced back stronger than ever. Today, it is a well-established player in the Canadian automotive industry, with models that are appreciated by the public, and an original offering.
This was reflected in Canadian sales in 2024, when the company set another record. Two models carried the company on their shoulders: the Outlander and Outlander PHEV.
Absolute record
The first thing that catches the eye is the automaker's total sales in Canada. A total of 38,921 models were delivered, representing an increase of 9% over 2023.
And for the first time since 2002, the company's debut in the country, a model sold more than 10,000 units. Unsurprisingly, it was the Outlander PHEV variant that achieved this feat. The 14,290 units sold represent an increase of 44% over 2023, proving the ever-growing consumer enthusiasm for plug-in hybrid models. This represents 36.7% of the company's sales. In fact, it's in Canada that the Mitsubishi Outlander is the most popular vehicle on the planet. And that's no mean feat.
The regular version saw 9005 buyers claim it. Including both versions of the Outlander, 23,295 units were sold.
Other results include 7402 sales for the RVR, 5292 for the Eclipse Cross, and 2932 for the Mirage.
The future
And there's good reason to be optimistic about the future. Mitsubishi ended the year on a high note, with 9228 models sold in the fourth quarter, an 8% jump on the same period in 2023.
And let's not forget the Momentum 2030 plan, which will see the brand introduce a new model or refreshed product every year between now and the end of the decade. Next February, the Outlander will benefit from an update.
Mitsubishi has also added a 97th dealership in the country, and dealership service is one of the company's priorities for the coming years.
In short, things are going well at Mitsubishi, and the future looks bright. If you'd like to find out more about our products, a visit to the dealership should be on your agenda.
