Action Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi’s Canadian division, MMSCAN (Mitsubishi Motors Sales of Canada) recently announced an exciting three-year partnership with Pelmorex Corp. This agreement makes its vehicles the first official models of MétéoMédia and its English-language counterpart, The Weather Network.
This collaboration marks an important milestone for both groups, combining the performance of Mitsubishi vehicles with MétéoMédia’s mission to provide accurate weather information and keep Canadians informed and safe.
A strategic partnership
Starting immediately, weather channel journalists will be traveling across Canada in specially marked Mitsubishi vehicles, launching this new alliance.
“We are thrilled to announce this partnership with Mitsubishi as the brand’s official vehicle sponsors,” said Tami Coughlan, Director of Sales at The Weather Network. "This partnership goes beyond a simple media presence, integrating vehicles that will allow our teams to brave severe weather conditions safely and confidently."
Vehicles Equipped for All Temperatures
Mitsubishi SUVs, identified with a bold design reflecting the dynamic nature of the weather, are equipped with advanced safety features, including the S-AWC (Super All-Wheel Control) system, which is an industry benchmark when it comes to all-wheel drive.
A 360° view camera, auto-tilt mirrors in reverse, additional airbags and a tire pressure monitoring system are also among the Mitsubishi Outlander's safety list that will ensure the safety of MétéoMédia teams in the field.
A Shared Commitment
Mitsubishi was of course very pleased with this news.
“We believe this partnership is a perfect fit for both of our brands,” said Kenji Harada, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada. “Canadians are increasingly choosing Mitsubishi vehicles for their safety, reliability and adaptability to Canadian lifestyles and weather conditions with our Super All-Wheel Control system. Similarly, we know that Canadians rely on The Weather Network and MétéoMédia year-round to stay informed.”
A Collaboration That Matters
Developed in collaboration with Mitsubishi Motors Canada and media agency Jan Kelley, this partnership aims to increase awareness and interest in the Mitsubishi brand by connecting Canadian audiences through a variety of media channels. The multi-platform program includes the integration of the Mitsubishi Outlander into daily weather reports, personalized storytelling, outdoor content sponsorships and digital tactics to reach key audience segments.
