Mitsubishi is set to unveil an updated version of its flagship SUV, the Outlander, in February. This model is a major contributor to the brand's success in Canada, whether in regular or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) configuration.
In fact, in 2024, this vehicle alone accounted for 60% of the company's sales on the Canadian market. And that can only grow in 2025, as the first details of the model's evolutions have been shared by Mitsubishi's Canadian division, accompanied by images revealing changes to the interior.
The Outlander 2025 retains its three-row configuration, a major asset for families. The most striking changes are to the center console, which has been completely redesigned to offer greater comfort and improved ergonomics. New interior colors will also enrich the passenger experience, adding a touch of modernity to the cabin.
One of the major innovations is the audio system, developed in collaboration with Yamaha. This alliance, a first for a Mitsubishi vehicle sold in North America, makes it possible to integrate a high-quality in-car audio system, including the first application of the SiriusXM 360L satellite entertainment service in a Mitsubishi vehicle. This enhancement promises an immersive sound experience for occupants.
Mitsubishi has also listened to customer feedback by making adjustments to the exterior design and optimizing road performance, both on asphalt and in off-road conditions. The vehicle also retains its flagship features, such as the S-AWC (Super All-Wheel Control) all-wheel drive system, one of the best in the industry, and its extended powertrain warranty of 10 years or 160,000 km.
Note that the changes to be made to the model in February affect the gasoline version only. However, if Mitsubishi's strategy is anything to go by, the plug-in hybrid version will certainly benefit from the same improvements, and perhaps more, when its time comes for an upgrade. Expect that to happen in the next few months.
