The Mitsubishi RVR remains one of the most interesting models on the market in the subcompact SUV segment. The reasons are quite simple. We are talking about a very affordable, very robust, very reliable vehicle, and equipped with a highly competent all-wheel drive system.
Which version should you choose, however? The truth is that all are interesting, because each offers an attractive price-quality ratio. The difference for buyers lies in their needs. The greater the latter, the more necessary it is to move up the range.
To begin a tour of the RVR family, let's first look at the base version of the model, the one that bears the letters ES.
Under the hood, the RVR offers two powertrains. Unsurprisingly, with the first model, it is the least powerful engine that is offered, but with 148 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, this unit never ceases to amaze. It is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), for the most efficient performance at the pump.
In fact, it is easy to consume less than 8.0 litres per 100 km on the highway with an RVR equipped with this mill, while its combined average is 8.9 litres per 100 km.
The RVR, in ES version, can be delivered with a front-wheel drive configuration, or with Mitsubishi's S-AWC (Super-All Wheel Control) all-wheel drive, a system that is cited as a reference throughout the industry because of its responsiveness and its ability to distribute its torque more efficiently. Driving modes are also included with the all-wheel drive for greater adaptation depending on the surface encountered.
The price of the base version is less than $25,000. You only have to pay $2,000 more to enjoy all-wheel drive. Try to find better throughout the industry.
As for the equipment, it is generous from the start with what is necessary for our comfort. We are mainly talking about automatic air conditioning here, as well as the presence of heated seats in the front. The comfort is excellent, the soundproofing is good, and the cargo volume is one of the best in the category at 1402 liters when the rear seats are reclined.
The 2024 RVR can be delivered to you with six colors in front-wheel drive configuration: Diamond White, Labrador Black, Sterling Silver, Titanium Gray, Octane Blue, and Diamond Red. With the all-wheel drive variant, we add a shade, namely Sunny Orange Metallic.
And of course, the model, like all others in the Mitsubishi family, benefits from one of the best protections on the market with a 10-year or 160,000 km warranty on the powertrain.
A test drive is a must. Come see us to discover the RVR a little more closely.
